GNTO’s Germany Youth on Tour Brochure Focuses On Young People’s InterestsToronto - School’s out, time to travel! Summer jobs and time permitting, a large number of Canadian students will be heading overseas again this year, and if Germany is within reach, they should not leave home without the German National Tourist Office’s four-colour, pocket-size brochure conceived especially for them. Called Impressions Unlimited: Germany Youth on Tour, it presents Germany’s many different faces, emphasizing what’s of particular interest to young travellers. From Berlin’s Love Parade to Bavarian lederhosen, from theme park action to roller blade Tuesdays (in Frankfurt), hang-gliding from Alpine peaks to mountain biking across Swabian ravines the 50-page booklet is packed with photographs, brief descriptions, Web sites, e-mail addresses and other useful travel information. It also includes brief profiles of 33 German cities and an extensive calendar of events organized by such special interests as youth and music festivals, sports events, cultural highlights and public celebrations like Oktoberfest. There’s also information about where young travellers can stay, including how to get in touch with the German Youth Hostelling Association. (Forty-three German youth hostels are housed in fortresses or castles!) The booklet’s back pages offer information on train travel for students, including rail passes, on language courses and a basic map. For a copy of Impressions Unlimited: Germany Youth on Tour, please call the German National Tourist Office’s toll-free number, 1-877-315-6237, or contact the office by e-mail, gntony@aol.com. An interactive version of the manual is also available on GNTO’s Web site at www.germany-tourism.de. |
