TWIG - German chanteuse Ute Lemper is touring the United States to promote her latest album, But One Day… With the album, which was released in March, Lemper returns to her roots in cabaret-style singing. Her concerts and the CD feature classics by Kurt Weill, Hans Eisler, Jacques Brel and Astor Piazolla as well as - in a first for Lemper - four self-penned songs. The tour starts in Chicago on April 13 and ends in Los Angeles May 2. The acclaimed singer, whom Rolling Stone Magazine has called "a woman who can capture humor and poignancy with her nuanced, stark voice," has flaunted her talent not only in recordings and solo performances, but also on Broadway as a lead in the musical Chicago, as well as in film and on canvas. When she lived in turbulent Berlin after the fall of the wall, Lemper says, she turned to painting to find peace and calm. Tour Dates:
