Dear friends,
I would first of all like to thank all who came out and
joined Sybille, Rolf and myself at the initial gathering of young spirits at
the Woodhouse Underground restaurant in May. A special thanks to the
wonderful Sybille and her husband Rolf who attended and made the event
special even though it was their wedding anniversary!
Whenever
one tries to start whatever it is, one must know that the initial result
will be small. The way things grow is at a steady pace aided by a lot of
patience and support. Now, you may wonder, well, what is it that we are
actually trying to accomplish here? We want to see where you, the 18-35s
hang out and if you might want to get together once in a while to have some
fun, share ideas or just be! I think this is a great opportunity to get to
know new people or get reacquainted with old friendships. It is true that
people evolve, but does it not peak you curiosity to do something new which
happens to be in part of the culture that you may be associated with? Our
next suggestion would be a BBQ under the summer stars. The month of July
would be a great one to get this going. Keep your eyes peeled for further
details once again and please feel free to submit your suggestions; they are
always welcome. In the meantime, I have a few suggestions of `cultural’
things to do in the city. Since I am a musician, I will mention artistic
things at first: the Toronto Symphony Orchestra has a great 18-29 program (tsoundcheck)
as well as a 30+ discounted ticket program that might be of interest to
check out: www.tsoundcheck.com or www.tso.ca Why not try the Canadian Opera
Company for one of their Student Dress Rehearsals? www.coc.ca Maybe you like
dance: www.national.ballet.ca Whatever your fancy, be it the latest punk
band or European DJ, the city has much to offer and who knows, you could
even attend with one of your new friends! No pressure!
Till next time,
Elizabeth :)
