(SFR) - In the middle of November Toronto will have another International Art Fair with amazing selections of world-class art. One of the art galleries showing comes directly from Düsseldorf. Bernd Lausberg is an established art dealer and is showing for the first time some of his artists in this venue and the related Seattle show. You will find him in the "Fresh Avant-garde Section" in booth 111.
The show goes from November 14-17 in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Front Street; tickets from Ticket King or by phone 416-872-1213.
And check the website www.tiafair.com .

Once a year, country comes to the city. That is the slogan of the annual Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. The Coliseum with the adjoining National Trade Centre is holding the most interesting events including the famous Horse Show, the Agricultural Show, shows with dogs and of course a horse rodeo, dressage, jumping, shopping galore and much more. There even is a wine museum and everything else one could learn about wine, including how to chose fine wine and how to cook with wine. The fun for young and old starts at November 7th and lasts to the 16th. More info at www.royalfair.org.

The National Ethnic Press Council held an all day conference with members of the media and the government. The German Canadian publications were represented with the publishers of the Neuschottlaendische Bote, German Business and Trade Publication, Das Echo and Echo Germanica.

The German contingent

Many interesting problems came up and some of them resolutions were formed for. After this meeting the ethnic press is no doubt somewhat more cohesive than it was before. Amazing was the cooperation of the government. The Ministry for Heritage is fully engaged in the dialogue and supportive of the aims of the National Ethnic Press Council. To read more on the conference go to the following website and follow the links to the council’s site, hosted by: www.patrides.ca

As mentioned elsewhere Christmas Fairs and Markets have become a favourite in Canada. Kitchener has a Christkindl Market on the first week of December, starting on the 3. and going to the 7th. www.christkindlcanada.com gives you all the information you need to enjoy this wonderful award-winning 7th annual fair, which offers besides the right atmosphere and shopping fabulous entertainment. Definitely worth the trip!

Toronto will host its 4th annual Christmas Fair on Nathan Phillip Square. www.torontochristmasmarket.com will give you more details.

The Danube Swabian Club has its 34th Christmas Market November 14th-16th, telephone 416-290-6186.

The Hansa Haus has one November 21-23, telephone 905-564-0060.

In Newmarket the 6th annual Christmas Fair is November 7th –9th in the Tannery Mall Shopping Centre, telephone 519-744-5933 for info.

We are sure there are others but these we are aware of.

Last but not least: An interesting Exhibit is to be seen as of November 19 in the Design Exchange in Toronto. Princess Diana’s life is celebrated in a very comprehensive show. www.dx.org gets you to the site with an extra link about this, the North American premiere engagement of this award-winning exhibit, which her brother Charles Spencer recently announced in Toronto.
