Collective Soul to headline New Year’s Eve Concert Extravaganza

Presented by Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort

Collective Soul ‘Counting the Days’
to New Year’s Eve

Niagara Falls, ON - The Winter Festival of Lights is pleased to announce that the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort will become the presenting sponsor of its nationally televised New Year’s Eve Concert Extravaganza.

The outdoor party, which attracts upwards of 50,000 people, will ring in the New Year from the Main Stage in Queen Victoria Park with Georgia-based rockers, Collective Soul. The event will be televised live across Canada on the CHTV/Global network.

"The New Year’s Eve Concert Extravaganza with Collective Soul is going to be the best New Year’s bash in Canada," said Anthony Annunziata, Executive Director, Marketing, Fallsview Casino. "Whether you come on down to the concert or watch the fun and excitement on TV, Canadians from coast to coast will be able to join the party that Fallsview Casino is presenting."

In what will surely be the best New Year’s Eve event in Niagara Falls yet, Collective Soul is preparing for a fantastic show, which will surely include numbers from its newest album, Youth.

Counting the Days, the lead single from Youth has been met with great success and the band loves to belt it out as it "represents Collective Soul, it rocks!" Ed Roland, lead vocalist says. Other songs on the new album include Under Heaven’s Skies, How Do You Love, Better Now and Home. The songs represent the changes, challenges and growth that the band has gone through in the last four years. "I want people to feel the good energy, the good place that we are in. I think that a lot of these songs represent that," mentioned guitarist Dean Roland.

Joining Collective Soul for the New Year’s Eve Concert Extravaganza is the Niagara-based rock band The Trews. Hailing from Nova Scotia, the band moved to the area three years ago and has since received numerous accolades including a Juno nomination for best new artist, a MuchMusic Video Award nomination, and being named the best Recording Artist of the Year by the Canadian Organization of Campus Activities.
