Into, Out Of And Away…

Mississauga, Ontario…The Living Arts Centre is proud to announce their next exhibition, INTO, OUT OF AND AWAY, in conjunction with MOSAIC, the South Asian Heritage Festival of Mississauga. The exhibition, running from April 28 – May 28, 2006, showcases seven Mississauga artists who use a variety of media to express their emotions and experiences associated with immigration, displacement and changing cultural identities.

Through their artwork, they explore their own cultures and what it means to them personally to live in Canada, whether as new immigrants or as First People.

The opening reception will take place on Thursday, May 4 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm in Laidlaw Hall Gallery.

  • Noni Kaur - Singapore
  • Saniya Hamad Khan - Pakistan

Admission is free. Laidlaw Hall Gallery is located on the second floor of the Living Arts Centre. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. The next exhibition scheduled in Laidlaw Hall is Visual Voices ~ Diversity. In conjunction with the Peel District School board, the exhibition features artwork by students in grades 5 – 8. Using their own visual voices, the students artistically explore diversity in all its forms. The exhibition runs from June 2 – June 22, 2006, with an opening reception on Friday June 9th, from 7 – 9 pm.
