Carnival is back in business

The Narrenzunft Concordia had their Gala-Opening of the Mardi Gras season 2006-2007 on November 11, 2006. The well-known M.C., Frank Wolf, guided the guests through the evening. Nine Mardi Gras societies from across south-western Ontario attended the event.

Treuer Husar Toronto, Hansa Brampton, Ascendia Hamilton, Ontario Prinzengarde, Lorelei Oshawa, as well as the President of the Concordia Club, Werner Schlüter and his wife Angela, Kitchener Councillor Christina Weylie and husband, Gerd and Ingrid Brachlow from radio CKPC 92.1 Brantford and Miss Concordia Alexandria Thoene.

Special performances were presented by the Narrenzunft Kinder-garde, "Hawaiian Boogie", Juniorgarde, "Crabs in a bucket", a solo by the Narrenzunft Junior Funki, and the Garde from Narragonia Brantford.

As a very special entertainment "A Tribute to ABBA" was presented by Celebrity Productions. The sang everything from "S.O.S. to "Take a chance on me" to the final song of the evening "Thank you for the music".

All In all it was a very entertaining evening with dance-music provided by the "Variation" band with Heinz Lindlau.
