CHILD FIND ONTARIO

CHILD FIND ONTARIO Supports Sudbury Hospital Tight Security Measures

Child Find Ontario would like to commend Sudbury Regional Hospital President and CEO, Vickie Kaminski and the staff of the hospital for their diligent efforts during the tragic infant abduction on November 1st. There is no doubt that the very clear image caught by the hospital’s surveillance camera made a huge impact in the safe return of the abducted infant. At Child Find Ontario we know too well the importance of a clear image as the major tool to find missing children, and in particular during an AMBER ALERT, this image made all the difference.

We were pleased to see the continued efforts of the hospital and its staff as they move forward with improved technologies and heightened security measures; taking immediate action to avoid such an incident that shook us all.

Indeed, the residents of Greater Sudbury are fortunate to have such diligent hospital staff, community members, Sudbury Regional Police, Ontario Provincial Police, City of Greater Sudbury EMS and all other concerned individuals; it is because of their quick thinking, professionalism and their actions that a tragedy was averted.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, volunteers and staff, we offer our thoughts and prayers to the baby’s family.

Child Find Ontario is a member of the Ontario Amber Alert Committee. To learn more about the Ontario Amber Alert program please visit www.opp.ca. About Child Find Ontario

Since 1984, Child Find Ontario, a not-for-profit charitable organization, has participated in the search and prevention of missing children. We are recognized by the RCMP National Missing Children's Services, affiliated with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Washington, and a member of the Amber Alert Committee. Child Find Ontario consists of many police-screened volunteers across Ontario. Our volunteers are responsible for the delivery of our programs and services that have been strategically designed to reduce the incidences of missing children and develop awareness across Ontario. Child Find Ontario does not receive any operational funding from the government nor are we a United Way agency. Our programs and services are offered for free through the generous support we obtain from our corporate sponsors, community groups, foundations and private donors. We do not solicit door-to-door.
