TORONTO, ON - Harbourfront Centre's World Stage 08:09 season
continues with That Night Follows Day, a performance piece written
and directed by eminent artist Tim Etchells, artistic director of
Britain's celebrated Forced Entertainment, and produced by prominent
theatre organization Victoria (BEL) that brought the acclaimed Aalst
to World Stage in 2007. A Canadian premiere, this wholly unique
creation includes a cast of sixteen children between the ages of
eight and fourteen, and arrives at Harbourfront Centre's Fleck Dance
Theatre, February 25 through February 28, 2009.
Single tickets and specially priced packages for That Night Follows
Day and all World Stage performances are on sale through the Harbourfront
Centre box office at 416-973-4000, or through

"You feed us. You wash us. You dress us. You sing to us. You watch
us when we are sleeping. You make promises that you think we won't
remember."
That Night Follows Day is the second piece in a series of Victoria
productions with children actors but performed for an adult audience.
Derived from text written by Etchells, the performance uses factual
observations to playfully and provocatively explore how a child's
world is shaped by adults.
With great clarity and humour, That Night Follows Day examines the
systems of parenthood, upbringing, discipline, care and welfare
that define children's and adolescents' worlds. The performance
not only explores the ways that adults project onto children but
also the ways that adults and children are both shaped by the language
they use to describe their experiences. Original, humourous and
thoughtful, this production promises to be one of the most talked-about
of Toronto's theatre season.
