September 2011 - Nr. 9

This is the event that all the members always look forward to each year and it was an unmitigated success again – no wonder, since we all practiced for it at our Membership Appreciation BBC, in July.

Picnic with an Erdinger and a cognacRight at the entrance the Erdinger Weissbier Bar invited the visitor to a tall cool glass of this tasty brew. It was “good to the last drop” – which for me came about an hour later. (I am not a fast drinker) Of course there was also the other regular beer available.

All smiles, President Robert GutweinThen there is a big thank you for all the volunteers. There would be no picnic without them.

The food was wonderful and delicious, as always – so I am not going to write about it, except Helmut Gschösser (r.) just arrivedmaybe mention the fact that some of the guests were grumbling because there were no potato pancakes this year. Well, I was sort of hoping there would be as well. But life goes on!

I did not realize how many youngsters were present this afternoon until I watched them in the Bouncy Castle, doing all sorts of aerobatics and acrobatics. They never stopped!

Since weather did seem to turn for the worse, some of the guests decided on an earlier departure. But the wind was from the west and the cloud mass in the east, it seemed a safe bet to stay awhile – since we could always retire to our large hall.

As always
