EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF MADRID

Orchestra Toronto Presents Music And Dance Of Madrid, Spain

Toronto ---- On February 17, 2008, Orchestra Toronto will present the music and dance of Madrid, Spain featuring dancers from Theatre Flamenco. Orchestra Toronto is combining music and dance to highlight its season’s theme,

 Dance Capitals of the World.

"It is very exciting to be a part of this collaborative initiative," said Juliana Pulford, primary dancer with Theatre Flamenco. "The flamenco dance is both emotive and introspective, which translates wonderfully in a full orchestral setting."

A free pre-concert talk by Artist-in-Residence Catherine Manoukian will take place at 2:15 pm and the concert will begin at 3 p.m. In addition, the popular Instrument Petting Zoo, compliments of Long & McQuade will provide an opportunity for children, youth and even parents and grandparents to try out a selection of instruments.

All Orchestra Toronto’s performances are held at the acoustically superb George Weston Recital Hall of the Toronto Centre for the Arts where it is a Company in Residence at 5040 Yonge Street. The Toronto Centre for the Arts is the only major theatre complex north of Bloor Street and is easily accessible by car, by public transportation and for wheelchairs. Several parking facilities are conveniently located around the Centre.

Orchestra Toronto is one of the best performing arts investments in the Greater Toronto Area.

Single tickets for adults ($35), seniors and students ($30), can be purchased through the Toronto Centre for the Arts box office (416.467.7142) or TicketMaster (416.872.1111 or ticketmaster.ca).
