 October 2008 - Nr. 10

Toronto – Eh! U Meet The Europeans - European Film Festival announced today their impressive 2008 line-up of international award winners and national hits. In its 4th annual edition, the festival runs in Toronto November 16-30, 2008. Eh! U Meet The Europeans is the only European film festival in Toronto.

The festival’s mandate is to "convey the rich and diverse culture of Europe through a selection of its finest and most recent films." This edition will feature exciting premieres from across the Atlantic. Eh! U Meet The Europeans is co-ordinated by the French Consulate as the cultural highlight, in Ontario, of the French Presidency of the European Union. Cannes 2008 Golden Palm The Class (Entre les murs) directed by Laurent Cantet, will be presented at the opening ceremony. Commenting on the strength of this year’s line-up, Cultural Office Head at the French Consulate Joel Savary said "how proud we are to offer so many Canadian premieres, through the selection of artistic excellence in feature films! The European film industry describes, in many different ways, the diverse nations and the same eternal needs of human beings for love and happiness, whatever History imposes on them." All screenings will be free of charge!
