Brace yourself, the 2000 version of the annual Black &
White Polo Ball is at hand!
Although odd in the choice of its venue day, that being on a
Tuesday and so during the work week, I still very much recommend you to
consider attending Ontario's happening-ball-of-the-year, June 6 at Toronto's
Royal Ontario Museum (100 Queen's Park).
As you might remember from my previous reports, this gala
fundraiser for the worthy Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario has
transformed itself from its mere partyesque beginnings in the mid-80's into
the genuine society event that it is to-day.
Bridging two generations, namely Boomers and Gen X'ers (50 -
25 year olds), the ball will especially appeal to the upscalish,
cocktail-circuit type, who enjoys dining/dancing, likes to network and/or
just socialize - allthewhile being dressed in Black Tie (kilts are also
welcome).
500 dinner guests (6:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.) will be treated to
a fine wines reception, a gourmet sit-down dinner (inclusive of a host bar),
two polo matches, an opportunity to participate in the live-, wine- and
silent auctions plus live and DJ'ed music & dancing.
200 additional dance guests will be able to join the
evening's events as of 9:00 p.m. (- 1:00 a.m.) and will be treated to
d'oeuvres, the all-night host bar, one polo match, the wine- and silent
auction, dancing alongside other fun and frolic.
Regretfully, this year I will not be able to make this fine
event, but undoubtedly a good time will be had by all revelers.
