Down On The Town

"The Donald", New York based real-estate tycoon Donald Trump, is set on building Europe’s tallest structure right in Germany’s financial capital - Frankfurt am Main.
This was the result of a recent visit by Frankfurt’s ambitious Lord Mayor, Petra Roth, to Trump’s Fifth Avenue offices.
Trump was so impressed with Her Worship’s pitch that he gave his instant consent to the construction of the record-high 375-meter tower.
In fact, in a subsequent Letter-of-Understanding, Trump formalized his company’s (The Trump Organization) "great and abiding interest in constructing and owning the tallest building in Europe, proudly located in Frankfurt".
He also had "no doubt that this great project will happen. We will call the building Trump Tower -- a name that I would only use for the very best".
Now it’s up to Trump’s people and Frankfurt’s development-friendly & open-for-business bureaucracy to iron out the details.
One thing is for certain; Petra Roth has accomplished an incredible feat in winning someone like Donald Trump over, known the world over for not being that easily impressed – by anyone.
Undoubtedly, it is because of such stellar conduct, time and again, why Petra Roth will be re-elected to a resounding 3rd term as Oberbürgermeister (Lord Mayor) of the City of Frankfurt, March 18, 2001.
