Concordia Club Opens the Patio |
||
by Herwig Wandschneider
K-W’s residents, and not just the members of the Concordia Club, can hardly wait for the first signs of spring to get outside and celebrate the spring weather with BBQ’d delights, music and entertainment. More and more the desire to be outside in the open air manifests itself in the increasing numbers of open-air patios in the Technology Triangle. The Concordia Patio is no exception and is particularly pleasant, since it is removed from city traffic and has that European flair. The opening of the patio is always a special event. It was held this year on Wednesday, May 18 – late enough to "guarantee" warm sunny weather. Pure luck this time, though, since the day before was still miserably cold, but on opening day, the temperature miraculously shot up to make the event enjoyable for the musicians, entertaining groups, guests and staff. The "Maibaum" was a bit confusing to some, but then, little attention was paid to the décor after chasing the "Leberkäse" with a few drafts of beer, and the focus shifted to traditional dance performances and music. Many faces lit up when they met again after the long winter with old friends, sat together and brushed up on winter events. A perfect event to renew friendships.
