Ontario Lacrosse Festival

The Largest Youth Lacrosse Event In Canada

TORONTO  — The Ontario Lacrosse Festival returns to Whitby, Ontario with nearly 4,500 participants in 2007, the fourth consecutive year of growth for Canada's largest youth lacrosse event.

Held at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre, the 10-day Festival features the provincial championships of the Ontario Lacrosse Association in five age divisions for 7-12 year-olds. The event also hosts the Pee Wee and Bantam Lacrosse Championships of Canada, round-robin tournament competitions between the best players from across Canada competing as provincial teams.

New to the Festival program in 2007 are three events of interest to players and fans alike: expanded provincial championships in all-girls box lacrosse age divisions of Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget and Intermediate; the addition of the OLA Junior "A" All-Star Game and Awards Ceremony; and the introduction of Festival Camps, a series of instructional skills clinics on-site during the Festival.

Once again this year, the Paperweight Shootout (an eight-team showcase of 4-6 year-olds) goes on Tuesday, August 7th. Festival Opening Ceremonies take place Sunday, August 5th at 4:00 PM.

In addition to our indoor tournament competition, a Festival Fun Zone is on-site. Twenty-two commercial exhibitors will provide unique and engaging opportunities for Festival fans.

Presenting Sponsors of the Ontario Lacrosse Festival are Gait, Harrow Sports, Hyper Performance Apparel, STX, the Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club and Warrior Lacrosse.

"The Ontario Lacrosse Festival is a ten-day combination of healthy competition and great fun for the entire family" said Ontario Lacrosse Association President John Doherty.

"The OLA is once again pleased to partner with the Iroquois Park Sports Centre to deliver first-class facilities for the excitement and drama of our provincial championship tournaments. On behalf of the OLA, we extend an invitation to everyone to join us at our annual celebration of the game".
