Kitchener-Waterloo, Canada – Kitchener-Waterloo
Oktoberfest announced its official call for nominations for the
2010 K-W Oktoberfest Rogers Women of the Year awards. The
annual awards have been celebrating the achievements and
contributions of Waterloo Region women since 1975.
Nominations for the prestigious awards, which will be presented
at St. George Hall in Waterloo on Thursday, October 7, 2010, are
sought in eight categories: Arts & Culture, Community Service,
Entrepreneur, Health & Wellness, Lifetime Achievement,
Professional, Sports & Recreation, and Young Adult.
Nomination forms can be found online at
www.oktoberfest.ca or
by visiting the K-W Oktoberfest Inc. office at 17 Benton Street,
Kitchener. The deadline for nominations
is July 30, 2010.
Larry Blundell, Executive Director of K-W Oktoberfest Inc.,
encourages members of the community to honour an outstanding
woman by nominating her for one of the prestigious awards.
“There are a great number of women in our community who
contribute, achieve and inspire every single day; doing so
without the accolades they all deserve. These awards are
handed out each year so that we can shine a light on those who
embrace change, demonstrate initiative, or generally touch the
lives of others in a positive and compassionate way.”
“We’re very pleased with our long term association with this
event. It has grown into one of the premiere events of the
entire Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest festival,” said Mike
Collins, General Manager of Rogers Kitchener Radio Group.
Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest will run from October 8 – 16,
2010.
