Siegfried & Roy Receive Special Honor At The 25th Annual World Magic Seminar |

Magicians of the Century Siegfried & Roy were surprise honorees at the just completed 25th World Magic Seminar held at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas. Founders of the annual magic convention, The Mirage stars were cited for their support of fellow magicians and for their contributions to the craft. In addition to their personal honors, Siegfried & Roy presented their annual SARMOTI award to Roxanne as the convention’s top up-and-coming magician an the Golden Lion’s Head award to Bin Lin as the seminar’s favorite magician as voted by all convention attendees. Roxanne is from Germany, and Bin Lin is from China. The plaque presented to Siegfried & Roy reads: "A quarter century ago, you helped bring this organization into the world and, for all the time thereafter, you have extended your legendary care and nurturing to it. You responded to its growing pains, cuddled it and watched over it as it grew to lionesque maturity and, even now, continue to monitor it with the watchful and practiced eyes of the caring guardians you are. "No force has been more powerful in making the World Magic
Seminar the sharing experience it is. For your stewardship, your support and
friendship, we honor you today." |

Movie superstar Tom Cruise, with assistance from gal pal
actress Penelope Cruz, feeds Titan, Siegfried & Roy’s frisky six-month-old
White Siberian Tiger during the pair’s recent visit to Las Vegas. Cruise
flew 10 friends on a private jet to see the Magicians of the Century for the
first time, continuing the tradition that Siegfried & Roy’s show is the one
the stars come out to see. "None of us had ever seen Siegfried & Roy, so we
made the trip especially to see then," he told the illusionists, "but you
can be sure we’ll be back very soon." |

With the multi-million dollar Krupp diamond on her finger and her maltese, Sugar, in an Yves St. Laurent carrying case, Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor celebrated the beginning of 2002 with Siegfried & Roy at the sold-out Mirage in Las Vegas. Taylor, a longtime friend of the Magicians of the Century, as well as enjoying the Siegfried & Roy spectacle, went backstage for an introduction to Atlas, a five-month-old White Siberian Tiger. |
