BMW Praised

TWIG - German luxury carmaker BMW was named the most-admired company in Europe in Forbes magazine’s annual world rankings. As the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports, the list was dominated by U.S. companies, with only 16 of the top 50 having their headquarters in other countries. BMW placed 12th overall and was second in the carmaker category behind Japan’s Toyota. Retailer Wal-Mart displaced General Electric in the top spot; Microsoft finished third. Meanwhile, the BMW brand was unseated as Germany’s second most popular by Audi in a study by marketing group AutoMarxx. Mercedes, made by Daimler Chrysler, once again was named Germany’s No. 1 car brand.
