Canada Day at Ontario Place
Since I had not been to Ontario Place for a few years, I
thought it would be a good idea to pay it another visit. Wow, what a
surprise! What a multitude of new attractions!
A lot of attention has been paid to the children’s play
areas - more than ever before.
A boon to parents that do not have much discretionary income
left for entertainment. Here the kids entertain themselves, while the
parents can relax a little. Of course there is lots of entertainment
available for big kids too – The Cinesphere is only one example – or panning
for gemstones and the wild water rides are some of the others.
To do it all justice I would have to write a book about
Ontario Place, but if you look at the pictures they give you a better idea
of some of the wonders. One of the most important reasons for many of the
visitors on Canada Day was, of course, the spectacular fireworks display at
the end of the day. Initiated from a barge anchored in the lake, it was
visible from almost every point on the grounds. This year it was set to
Indian Music. Very nice indeed!
