MOSAICO

Opening Reception:
Thursday, July 7, 2005, 7:00 – 9:00pm

Laidlaw Hall (2nd Floor of the Living Arts Centre)

In Partnership With: Fundarte Latinoamerica

Mississauga, Ontario….The Living Arts Centre is proud to present MOSAICO, a showcase of paintings, drawings, engravings, photography and sculpture by the Mississauga membership of Fundarte Latinoamerica. This exhibition runs from July 1 to August 21, 2005.

Fundarte Latinoamerica is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to promoting the artistic development of the Latin American community in Canada. The group was founded to make the general public aware of the richness of the Latin American cultural heritage and to help to integrate the Latin American community into the Canadian mainstream, thereby enriching Canada’s cultural mosaic. Fundarte promotes the development of art through workshops, collective exhibitions and encouraging emerging artists.

MOSAICO is a vibrant pictorial example of works that join together the passion and inspiration of 15 local artists. These artists have an intense desire to actively create an environment whereby fine arts can flourish - in all its diverse artistic expressions. Their Latin American roots, experience and vision unite the artists. Together they produce an artistic fusion that will lead to new ideas, creating stronger bonds within the Latin American art community.

The artists participating in the MOSAICO exhibition are:

Alejandro Antequera (photography); Jorge Bolaňos (painting); George Calle (mixed media and sculpture); Nacho Cartagena (cork sculpture); Liván Castro (painting and sculpture); Andrés Correa (painting); Oscar de las Flores (drawing and engraving); Jorge Fernandez (painting and sculpture); Rosa Guash (painting); Arturo Guadgymar (photography); Silvia Radvansky (painting); Luis Ramírez (painting); Osvaldo Reyes (painting); Gloria Salcedo (painting); Patricia Vega (engraving).
