Burgenländer Club Martini Dance |
||
by Oskar StubitsThe Burgenländer Club Martini Dance is an important date on many people’s social calendar. To accommodate the overflow crowd attending the 27th Annual Martini Dance on November 12, 2005 – extra tables had to be set up in the St. Peter and Paul Hall in Scarborough. Guests came from as far away as Gravenhurst. It was especially surprising to see so many young people. Honorary guests included the Austrian Consul and Trade Commissioner Dr. Karl Schmidt and his wife, the president of the Canadian Austrian Society Ms. Christine Meyer, the CEO of Magna International-Decoma Mr. Peter Schmied and Mrs. Schmied. The Golden Keys provided the music and it was obvious that the guests came to dance. The dance floor was full from the start to closing time. There were 200 Tombola prizes and a number of valuable door prizes. The Grand Door Prize of two free airline tickets Toronto-Vienna and return was drawn and presented to the winner Hans Langin of Thornhill by Dr. Karl Schmidt.
