Toronto, Ontario...The National Ballet of
Canada will open the doors to its home, The Walter Carsen Centre for The
National Ballet of Canad
a, to the public for the annual Esso Kids Open House
on Sunday April 17th from 11 am to 5 pm.
Ballet fans of all ages are invited to watch the National
Ballet in rehearsal as they prepare for the Spring Season opening April 23rd
with Cinderella. The public can also take a closer look at the
National Ballet’s costumes, pointe shoes, wigs, props and set models plus
meet the backstage crafts people who create the beauty on stage. Tours of
the facilities including the wardrobe workshop are available all day. There
will be a special "Kids’ Studio" with children’s activities including "dress
up" in ballet costumes, arts and crafts, movement classes and more.
The National Ballet’s Esso Kids Open House is
completely free of charge and no reservations are required. The National
Ballet of Canada will collect non-perishable food donations for the Daily
Bread Food Bank.
