Double Cruise |
||
The Saturday night before the big mass staged in Downsview we were invited to a cruise on Lake Ontario on the Empire Sandy, a three-mast schooner. The host was Michael Maccarone, President of isg transportation inc. Ulli Jeschke had asked us along to this outing, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The company’s generosity in thanking its suppliers and clients is apparently well known and people turned out in record numbers to be part of this sailing event. The trip around Toronto’s harbour and the out into the lake way beyond the islands was incredible. The air held a lot of humidity and made the skyline in the dark glow like an apparition from a Sci-Fi scene, all done with the certain strokes of watercolour by a great artist.
We met with Captain Rogers who already worked the ship as a schoolboy when his dad was the captain. His sister owns the River Gambler, an old fashioned River boat, as the name suggests, on which we are inviting you to join us on September 14. Entertainment and good food by Lein’s delicatessen are guaranteed, as is the ever beautiful and unique skyline of Toronto. Please consult the advertisement in the August issue or call 416-652-1332 for more information. Bookings are commencing swiftly; so if you want to be part of the event, please book soon. Be prepared to have fun! SFR. |
