If the Baroness Philippine de Rothschild can donate a few fine wines, then perhaps you can, too! The 2002 TSO Fine Wine Charity Auction and Festival seeks wine donationsTORONTO - This year, the Baroness Philippine de Rothschild has donated to The Toronto Symphony Orchestra 12th Fine Wine Charity Auction and Festival one imperial of Chateau Mouton Rothschild '75, three double magnums of Chateau d'Armailhac '95, and one geroboam of Chateau Clerc Milon '96. They are coming directly from the Baroness's cellar. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra's 12th Fine Wine Tasting will take place November 1st at the National Club at 303 Bay Street, and the Pre-Auction Specialty Tasting and Charity Auction will happen on November 7th at Le Meridien King Edward Hotel on 37 King Street East. Please visit www.tsvc.on.ca/winefest.htm for more information. The Toronto Symphony Volunteer Committee is appealing for donations of unique and rare wines for this year's auction. Robert Jull, President of Vinifera Wine Services, professionally appraises all wine donations and the donor receives an income tax receipt for the appraised value. The incentive to donate is significant: the tax receipt is issued based on the international fair market value of the wines with a premium added for availability in Ontario. Over the past several years the value of fine wines has increased dramatically, making now a perfect opportunity to capitalize on wine collections and reap the rewards. Moreover, collectors of multiple bottles of a particular wine may find it advantageous to donate several of these bottles, enabling them to re-invest in other new wines for their collection at the auction. This is a project of the Toronto Symphony Volunteer Committee. For more information, please contact: Linda McGeown, TSVC Administrator Toronto Symphony Orchestra |
